Bharat Ratna for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is an appeal initiated by the students of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, in India.
We believe that Tenzin Gyatso, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, is an icon of all that is good in the world, and strives everyday to reinforce the human values that can make sentient beings happy. Values of brotherhood, ahimsa, karuna and compassion, kindness and forgiveness.
Through this initiative we are making a formal appeal to the Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi ji to nominate, and the President of India, Sri. Ram Nath Kovind ji, to confer the next Bharat Ratna on His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso.
The initiative is steered under the guidance of Dr. Anita Kamath Dudhane and Dr. (Prof) Renuka Singh. The initiative is supported by students and followers around the world of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama who have taken small and big tasks to make this program a success.
This initiative calls all citizens of India to participate in a voting process that supports the appeal for the nomination and conferring of the next Bharat Ratna on His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso.
The voting process is both online and offline.

This voting is open to all Indians within and outside the country.

How many votes
We would like all the citizens of India to vote and hear from 1 billion + people. We need a minimum of 20 million votes.
After the voting period
Post the voting period, we would be seeking an audience with our Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi ji, to submit our humble appeal to nominate His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso for the next Bharat Ratna and the citizen’s support in the initiative.
When you participate in the voting process, you will be giving us consent to use your name and email address in support of the appeal, when we present it to the PMO.
The information that you share during the voting process will not be shared for any other purpose other than this initiative.

Dr. Anita Kamat Dudhane
Dr Anita Kamath Dudhane is a physician who specializes in Allergies and Clinical Immunology, and lives in Goa. After her initial medical training in India she did her postgraduate studies in New York Medical College, receiving a MD/PhD. She is also involved in various community projects such as the Voluntary Health Association of Goa which brings health to rural communities and is currently working on introducing Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning in educational institutions in Goa.
Dr. (Prof) Renuka Singh
Professor Renuka Singh (Retd.) is a Sociologist from the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has been working in the field of Gender Studies, Diaspora and Buddhist Studies for over four decades and travels extensively delivering lectures at various seminars and Universities abroad. She has been associated with Womenʼs Studies Centre, Delhi University, Centre for Social Research, and was a Research Fellow at Centre for Cross-Cultural Research on Women at Oxford University. She was also a Senior U G C Fellow and is currently the Director of Tushita Mahayana Meditation Centre, New Delhi, and the Chairperson of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha , New Delhi. She has authored and edited several articles and books that have been translated into many languages of the world. Some of the titles are: The Womb of Mind, Women Reborn, The Path to Tranquillity, The Transformed Mind, Many Ways to Nirvana, The Path of the Buddha, Becoming Buddha, Dalai Lamaʼs Little Book of Buddhism, Dual Identity:Indian Diaspora and Other Essays, Boundless As the Sky, Dalai Lamaʼs Little Book of Mysticism, and The Little Book of Encouragement.
Dr. Kaveri Gill
Dr Kaveri Gill is a Cambridge-trained academic, who lives and teaches in India.
Deepthy is a drama teacher and a dharma student based in Bangalore, India.

Rhyma is a photographer and graphic designer. She specializes in content curation for social media brands. Her passion lies in documenting cultures of the Northeast of India.
